With Covid-19 restrictions making fundraising events more and more difficult, organizations like the Heart and Stroke foundation have been forced to think 'inside the box' and find ways to connect with their members online and raise moeny at the same time. From that idea, this online Bingo site was born,
Heart & Stroke Bingo
Not only did this site require integrated live streaming, it needed a few custom elements and plenty of editable content.
We first created a widget allowing people to click through to their maps app from any platform, or go directly to Google maps within their browser if no app was found, to acquire directions to the vendor of the bingo cards of their choosing.
We then needed space on the homepage for the client to edit content from their dashboard, including weekly jackpots, streaming dates and times, and winners. The winner's widget was designed with similarities to Netflix's side-scrolling filters making it so most users would already be familiar with the thumb/mouse movement required to scroll through the numerous weekly winners without requiring too much real estate on the homepage, and reducing load times as the content no yet on the screen can load after the page finished loading its main content.
The site has become a staple for many NB households and is actively helping Heart and Stroke raise the money they require to continue saving lives and making a lot of happy winners on a weekly basis. We use Amazon's servers, so the thousands of weekly visiters to the site have had no effect on its speed and user experience.
