PresentBetter’s training programs ran on an older Wix Blocks app. We rebuilt it as PresentBetter 2.0: a Wix CLI app where coaches guide, learners move step by step, and groups buy seats right through Wix checkout.

Great coaching deserves software that keeps up.
PresentBetter trains researchers to present their work, and gives lab supervisors a system for coaching their teams, through programs like The 5 Steps and 12 Keys to PresentBetter. Behind the programs sat an older Wix Blocks app, with group payments running through separate Stripe code.
PresentBetter 2.0 had to bring it all into one place: lessons that unlock as learners go, forms that send each person to the right next step, feedback from the people in the room, and a simple way for groups to buy seats. And it had to bring the old app’s data across without touching the original.

From a Blocks app to PresentBetter 2.0.

Refreshed the site first
The work started with presentbetter.org itself: working with Andrew Churchill and his design team, we refreshed the site to match PresentBetter’s new brand.

Mapped the old app
We started by pulling the Blocks app apart (its screens, collections and forms) so nothing coaches relied on would quietly go missing.

Rebuilt it as a Wix CLI app
Coach and participant dashboards, step-by-step lessons, a form builder and automated emails, all in one installable app that imports the old app’s data without changing it.

Beta, then the switch
A beta went live in July 2026 so real learners could kick the tires. In September, the programs moved over to 2.0 for good.
The tricky bits
Selling seats Wix didn’t have a button for.
Coaches buy as many seats as they need, from a set minimum up, and coupons still have to work. Wix Pricing Plans sells one fixed price per plan, and an app’s own checkout item can’t take a coupon. So the app builds the cart itself: a Wix Stores product at the right quantity, the minimum checked on the server, and the buyer sent straight to checkout, where the count can’t be edited down. Seats are credited from the paid order, exactly once, however many times Wix reports the payment.

Coaches run their groups from one place: invite participants, manage seats, follow each learner’s progress and read the feedback as it comes in.

Lessons that unlock as you go
Steps pair a video with notes, or open straight on the notes when there’s no video. Progress saves along the way, and the next step opens when the learner is ready for it.

Forms that do the routing
A coach’s decision form sends each learner to the right next step (red, yellow or green), peers leave feedback by QR code or emailed link, and automated emails keep everyone moving.

PresentBetter 2.0 took over the programs in September 2026. Coaches, learners and seats now live in one app: seat checkout runs on Wix Stores instead of separate Stripe code, and the app sends its own emails through Wix Automations.
